Great article, and spot on. Just this morning, I responded to something I read on LinkedIn by someone who appears to be at the top of their field. Yet, he wrote:
It is often difficult to clearly articulate strategic direction and even more difficult to explain it in a fashion that guides, motivates and inspires. Once the direction is embraced and we engage we are better placed to focus on implementing new and so called better systems. Technical deadlines often override the priority of effective end-to-end implementation. Adopting an agile versus waterfall approach is one such strategy.
What??? What does adopting an agile versus waterfall approach mean?
He seems like a smart guy. Nevertheless, I sent him a note offering him my services. He needs help and doesn’t even know it! :-(
